Advancing educational technology for new university campus
The new Philips displays and the support we received from ESEISA Audiovisuales and PPDS exceeded our expectations in terms of technology, advice and training
Background
UDIT – the University of Design and Technology of Madrid – is Spain’s largest university campus of design and technology, each year the specialist educational home to more than 2,000 students.
Creating and providing transformative experiences, including with intensive use of cutting-edge technology, the university aims to prepare its students for professional success.
In addition to educational excellence, UDIT is interested in applied research focused on sustainability and the collaborative and circular economy.
Challenge
Already seen as a hub of innovation, UDIT is recognized as a benchmark in the areas of design and technology, with a unique, modern, urban campus with excellent facilities. This success has seen a requirement for expansion, adding an extra campus to the University’s portfolio.
The new campus needed not only to match UDIT’s cutting-edge environments – it needed to surpass them. Students’ experiences again needed to be reimagined, providing next level technologies that would reflect the fast-developing professional environments found in this globally competitive marketplace.
Solution
UDIT turned to its local integration partner, ESEISA Audiovisuales, to equip the new campus build with technologies to match its brief. Support from the manufacturer, both pre- and post-installation, was also a critical factor, ensuring any changes to displays required would be met with speed and flexibility. Trusting the team at PPDS for its strong partnership ethos, ESEISA Audiovisuales selected a range of Philips Professional Displays for this landmark project.
With connected and slick educational experiences key for the classrooms, thirty-three 86” Philips Collaboration E-Line displays were installed, bringing stunning 4K resolution and 40-touchpoint interaction together with a highly intuitive integrated interactive whiteboard. These were complemented with fifteen 70” Philips B-Line professional TVs added for reading support in larger learning spaces.
Working seamlessly together, these displays both draw upon their Android SoC to bring next-level and updateable teaching and learning for professors and students alike.
Choosing PPDS and these Philips Professional Displays resulted in UDIT having the support of a leading display brand, as well as our integration expertise. This allowed us to solve any challenge with direct attention and advice on the changes or solutions UDIT needed.
The strong partnership ethos between ESEISA Audiovisuales and PPDS resulted in the project being successfully completed on schedule, equipping the UDIT team not only with the technology, but also the training to bring their new campus next level.
