PPDS Future Tech – Feeding in display development
In today’s fast paced digital world, innovation moves quickly – we are all looking to ‘what next’. Of course, new technologies need to impress. But the success of the technologies we introduce doesn’t always depend on flashy gadgets and spectacular sizes. Those have their place, but just as important are the technologies that answer a true marketplace challenge. Making life easier for customers. Gaining feedback from customers before launching a new technology is critical.
Customer feedback acts as a real world compass, helping product developers understand how their ideas align with the expectations and challenges of their target audience. While internal teams may believe they know what users want, it is often the customers themselves who highlight overlooked details, usability concerns, or practical improvements that make the difference between a good product and a great one.
Gathering input early provides two major benefits – refinement and validation. At PPDS we make it a policy to gather feedback from our partners, and our customers, whenever we can. That feedback allows us to refine our technologies, addressing potential issues before launch rather than after. This validates the direction we are taking. And it reduces the risk of costly redesigns. If our partners and customers respond positively to our prototypes, demos, or beta versions, we can be more confident that our investment will be a good market fit.
Involving partners in the process, especially with beta test programs, allows them to prove their own solutions with our displays ahead of launch, while also giving our team invaluable feedback into areas that still need development, and even ideas for new features and functionalities.
And involving customers helps to build trust and loyalty. People are far more likely to adopt a product when they feel their voices have shaped it. This sense of collaboration builds stronger relationships and positions us as a company that genuinely listens and adapts.
Ultimately, listening to customers is more than a step in the development process – it is the foundation of sustainable innovation. And that is why, every year, as well as regular beta test programs, PPDS hosts a ‘Future Tech’ event. Sometimes at a larger gathering, such as our ‘black box’ rooms at ISE in 2025 and at EquipHotel in 2024. And sometimes at special locations, such as our ‘Global Access: Future Tech’ or ‘Shine Brighter’ events at MK-7 – home of Oracle Red Bull Racing – in 2022 and 2023 respectively.
