Retail results - Three big tests for system integrators
With high street stores and back street boutiques throughout the world facing daily struggles to draw in customers, pull in a profit and stay trading, system integrators installing digital displays in the retail marketplace are facing new challenges, too. We asked some of our installation partners what they saw as the biggest challenges coming up for them…
Online v physical
Perceived as the biggest challenge for our system integrators, the online v physical sale continues to be a problem. While physical stores have the advantage of immediate stock, with sometimes same day delivery now available for online purchases, ecommerce continues to bite into physical stores’ space. Experience is key in helping to combat this phenomenon and, from gamification through the trend for phygital (digital techniques in physical spaces), creating unmissable experiences with the potential to draw in new waves of customers is ever more possible.
57% of installers say online v physical is one of the biggest future challenges for them.
Complexity of solutions
Phygital. Gamification. Big data. They’re all trends that require more complex solutions and, for system integrators, require new skill sets and constant attention to stay ahead of the curve. At PPDS, we work with our network of global partners to provide our customers with solutions that are localised to them – and their customers – wherever they are. Check out our Intelligent Signage Solution for Retail, which enables system integrators to deliver next level solutions that are already proven and bundled to go.
28% of installers suggest complexity of solutions is a challenge in the future.
Sustainability and environmental impact
The pandemic has given all consumers time to consider priorities and, while for many, environmental impact was already a big concern, now that impetus toward selecting on sustainability, as well as brand values and product suitability, has grown even more. With Millenials and Generation Zers all much more likely to buy if a brand is shown to be sustainable, selecting digital displays with lower energy consumption, or with the ability to be updated – such as our Philips Android SoC displays – to remain cutting-edge for longer, makes a great deal of sense.
28% of integrators think sustainability will be a challenge to overcome into the future for retail installations.
Whatever the challenge our integration partners are facing, at PPDS we are here to help. Working with our software and complementary hardware partners, we can support customers with proven solutions that deliver on acquisition and retention, complex targeting, content management, data analysis and management reporting and, ultimately, on return on investment.
